Make a sand casted bird bath using a large leaf.  This will not only give the birds a place for a bath, but look good while doing so!

Garden Bird Bath

Here is a bird bath plan that consists of graduating sizes of terra cottas saucers.  This bird bath has a water drip system that causes water to cascade down the terra cotta saucers for a beautiful fountain affect.
